Announcements 3-2-06

1.  Please contact Sarah Jackson (sljackso@kent.edu) with your preferences regarding Methods for Summer 2006. The class will meet (likely at the FCLC in Tallmadge) 3 days a week. Contact Sarah no later than March 6th.

Decision One - which weeks?
Option One: Start last week in June and go three weeks into July
Option Two: Start on July 5th and 6th (go 5 hours each day) then do the rest of the 3 weeks in July 3 days a week (3.5 hours per day).

Decision Two: which days of the week?
Option One: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Option Two: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

2.  We are changing our thoughts about the summer institute (SI) but hope to have a final plan soon. Right now our overall plan is the SI would last for 5 consecutive days and would be for 3 graduate credits. There would be some outside of class homework (due by mid-August). The overall topic would be universal design with specific training on the AEPS and on dealing with challenging behaviors. Please let me know by March 6th if you are interested (or if others you work with would be interested) - kprettif@kent.edu. Please let me know if you would rather have the SI:

Option One: last week in June
Option Two: last week in July
Option Three: first week in August

3.  Don't forget to let Brooke know if you need a summer practicum (bwinchel@kent.edu). Make sure you indicate which age group. You need to let us know by April 1st. We'll send out registration information by April 15th.

4.  I've forwarded a message from Lucky McKeen and flyers regarding ASQ-SE trainings. As you know - this is required of all preschool teachers by May so please get the word out.

5.  Don't forget we are looking for folks who are using the AEPS to add their contact information to our database
<http://fpsrv.dl.kent.edu/ecis/aepsdatabase.asp> and to participate in a critical research project. You can learn more about the research at the following URL:
