COLLEGE OF NURSING CONVOCATION
The College of Nursing Convocation is a special ceremony held, at the option of the graduating class, to recognize
the professional aspects of completion of the nursing curriculum. It is different from and in addition to the University
graduation ceremony which recognizes fulfillment of the academic degree requirements of the University.
The College of Nursing pin is presented to each graduate during convocation. This pin becomes a part of the
professional nurse uniform and helps to identify that nurse as a graduate of a recognized, approved College of
Nursing.
Each graduating class, through a committee of students and faculty volunteers, plans the details and funding for
their own convocation.

Graduation
Registered Nurse Students must make application for graduation early in the semester prior to the semester of
graduation. Refer to the schedule of classes booklet for specific deadline dates. Applications are available upon
request from the College of Nursing Office of Undergraduate Affairs.
