COMMITTEES OF THE COLLEGE OF NURSING
Standing committees composed of faculty, and in most Instances students, assist the Dean with administrative
functions and responsibilities of the College of Nursing. Student participation, when feasible, on the faculty
committees is strongly encouraged.
Standing committees are:

**Graduate Curriculum Committee
* Undergraduate students may seek election as student representatives to these committees. Official petitions for
candidacy to serve on these committees will, at the appropriate time, be available in the College of Nursing
Undergraduate Office. Students should be certain they have the correct petition form. Each candidate then must
submit the appropriate form, signed by ten (10) different students in the College of Nursing. When completed, the
forms are to be given to the College of Nursing Committee on Committees by a pre-selected date during spring term
in order to allow sufficient time to prepare ballots.
* * Graduate Student representation qualification requirements for student candidates are:
- Current enrollment in the College of Nursing and not on Academic Probation.
- Interested in and able to attend all regularly scheduled meetings of the committee for which the student is a
candidate. (Faculty committee meetings are regularly scheduled for I - 1/2 to 2 hour sessions on Mondays between
1: 15 and 5:00 p.m.
Students are also elected to the student grievance committee and may also be asked to be members of ad hoc
committees such as the convocation committee.

- Baccalaureate Curriculum Committee
- Responsible for the surveillance, evaluation and process of curriculum revision.
- Decide and Implement an overall program evaluation system.
- Make recommendations to faculty for curriculum change.
- Bylaws
- Develops, reviews, and revises the Bylaws of the College of Nursing annually or when deemed necessary and
presents bylaws to the faculty for approval.
- Committee on Committees
- Secures indications of faculty member's interest in committee membership.
- Determines membership of each of the standing or ad hoc committees of the College in accordance with the
bylaws, faculty members' preference, and in consultation with the Dean.
- Conducts faculty elections as necessary.
- Conducts elections for student representatives on faculty committees.
- Reports committee membership and offices to the dean and to the faculty.
- Recommends meeting times for the faculty and the committees of the College and recommends times available for
Faculty Group meetings.
- Obtains secretaries for Faculty and Curriculum meetings.
- Continuing Education and Faculty Development Committee
- Recommends and facilitates programs and workshops for continuing education of nurses.
- Inform faculty of continuing education trends.
- Plan, implement and evaluate programs and workshops for faculty development based on needs analysis.
