FACULTY
ADVISING
Each RN student admitted to the University as a nursing student will have
a faculty or administrator available for advising onsite, or by VAL (Video-advising).
If the R.N. elects to seek advising outside of an appointment (i.e. e-mail
or telephone) advisors will respond as their schedules permits. All registered
nurses must meet with a baccalaureate degree advisor prior to entry into
the required nursing courses. Ongoing advising is highly recommended to
facilitate program progression. E-mail addresses are available for needs
beyond regular advising.
Those
in the advising capacity offer guidance to students in relation to course
selection, course load, arranging schedules, and can offer referral regarding
other problems the student may encounter such as housing, finance, need
for tutoring, etc. Faculty who serve as clinical instructors also have
as their role to support students in their progression through the program
and provide information relative to professional career guidance.
