KENT STATE UNIVERSITY
LIBERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

All students graduating with a baccalaureate degree from Kent State University must have completed 36 semester hours of liberal education requirements. Students must also complete two diversity courses (D), one from the University LER courses, and one additional course from those listed. The requirements are:

  1. COMPOSITION (6 s.h. - 8 s.h.)

    English 10001, 10002 or Honors 10197

     

  2. MATHEMATICS, LOGIC, & FOREIGN LANGUAGE (6 s.h.)
    If foreign language is taken, two 4 hour courses of the same language must be completed to fulfill the requirements.

Elective Nursing Courses:
Special nursing courses will be offered periodically by nursing faculty and may be taken as electives by nursing students. These courses are listed in the catalog.

Pass-Fail: Liberal Education courses, science, nutrition, and nursing courses may not be taken pass-fail.
