or universities receive transfer credit
for these courses. All courses, however, must be evaluated for
equivalency according to the following procedure.
- Student makes
application to the University and Is accepted into the University
and College of Nursing.
- Based on established
criteria, the Admission Office will evaluate previous course work.
- The Admissions
Office will forward a copy of the evaluation to the student and to
the College of Nursing.
- Personnel in the
College of Nursing will review the evaluation with the student to
determine direct application or equivalency of content for
specific courses.
Registered nurse
students are requested to seek advising frequently to keep the College
informed of their progress and plans. In order to plan effectively,
the College needs to be aware in advance of a student's plans to enter
a clinical course.
Clinical Nursing
Courses
Several of the nursing
courses have a clinical component. Days and times are arranged between
the R.N. student and the health care facility providing clinical
experience. Students will have an identified preceptor who will
provide guidance In the setting and serve as liaison to course
faculty.
Professional
Profile
All of the nursing
courses require submission of formal papers and other documents and/or
projects that reflect and demonstrate professional development. These
materials are a part of the process used in self reflection on the RN
student's professional development, achievement of established course
goals, creativity, and program outcomes.
