Currently, the Kent State University Research and Graduate Studies Department is reviewing our request to offer the Behavioral Intervention Specialist Certificate without enrolling in the Special Education, Early Childhood Intervention, or School Psychology Master's Programs.  Those professionals who hold licensure in Special Education, General Education, Speech/Language Pathology or School Counseling would be eligible to work toward the certificate program by completing the course requirements and the supervised field experience.  

Part-time Eligibility

  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or
  • Acceptance into the Master's licensure program of Special Education, Early Childhood Intervention or School Psychology at Kent State University

  • Kent State University certificate as a Behavioral Intervention Specialist
