The coursework associated with the Behavioral Intervention Specialist Program has been selected from existing requirements for the Special Education and School Psychology graduate licensure programs and through the development of specialized curriculum, and with supervised application in school, family, and agency services.  The coursework has been designed to provide comprehensive study in the areas related to behavior intervention for children and youth with emotional or behavioral disorders.  

To receive the Behavioral Intervention Specialist Certificate, the students will take the following coursework in addition participating in the Behavior Assist Center .

  • SPED 53031~Classroom & Behavior Management II
  • SPED 6/83991~Psychopharmocological Treatment Disabilities
  • SPSY 6/77920~Diagnosis & Treatment of Childhood Disorders
  • SPSY 6/77995~Instructional interventions
  • SPSY 6/7793~Consultation in the Helping Profession
  • SPED63991/SPSY 67995~Advanced Interventions for Emotional& Behavioral Disorders
  • SPED 63991/SPSY 67995~Progress Monitoring & Program Evaluation 
  • SPED 63992~ Advanced Practicum in Emotional & Behavioral Disorders
